Great Glen paddle challenge in aid of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø
Ali and Claire have just reported in after their massive achievement of 15 hours battling everything a Scottish winter's day could throw at them: blizzards, high winds, huge waves and night fog. They have made a short Youtube video featuring some pictures of their adventure which you can see below.
The sponsor money keeps coming in and we are sitting at around £4700 just now.
We are both very happy to have been able to help such a great charity and please stay in touch so we can continue to lend our support in any way we can.
Regards
Ali
Background note: Alistair Spearing and Claire Anderson both grew up in Perthshire but are now living in London. Two years ago, whilst serving with The Royal Engineers in Afghanistan, Ali was involved in a serious accident. After stepping on an improvised explosive device, he lost both his legs above the knee. Positive as ever, Ali continues to be very active. Alongside his rehabilitation programme at Headley Court, he and Claire have been training for this year’s Great Glen Paddle: a non-stop, 92km Kayak Race from Fort William to Inverness. They set off from Fort William early on Saturday morning 22nd March 2014 around 0200hrs to reach Inverness by sunset!
