Meet John Montgomery, Global Chief Technical Adviser, Explosive Ordnance Disposal
Where are you from in Scotland?
Milton of Campsie, a small village situated in East Dunbartonshire, roughly 10 miles north of Glasgow.

What is your job title and where do you work?
Global Chief Technical Adviser Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). As the title suggests, my role sees me visiting the many programmes in 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, providing EOD technical advice and training to our national and international staff.

Why did you decide to join The 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Trust?
As a UK-based humanitarian non-governmental organisation, The 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Trust is one of the world leaders in ridding the contamination of explosive remnants of war. Having the opportunity to contribute to this and to help make the world a safer place meant 91³Ô¹ÏÍø was a natural choice.

What is the best thing about your job?
Knowing that the work we do makes a difference to people’s lives.

What do you miss most about Scotland?
It’s the people, they are brilliant. You can always rely on the Scots to conjure up something humorous, even in the most adverse situations.
