2020 has been a year of unprecedented challenges for everyone, from the COVID-19 pandemic and the continuing humanitarian crisis in Yemen and Syria, to the ongoing conflict in Libya and the most recent devastating war over Nagorno Karabakh. But thanks to your continued support, together we have been able to bring hope to tens of thousands of families.
One million people supported in 91³Ô¹ÏÍø's COVID response
Syria: 500,000 taught risk education
As COVID spread across the world, airports shut down, healthcare systems fractured and entire countries went into lockdown, you dug deep to support 91³Ô¹ÏÍø's Emergency COVID Relief Fund. Thanks to you, we were able to mobilise our resources to reach over one million vulnerable people, delivering medical supplies to isolated communities, digging boreholes to increase access to clean water and using our ambulances to transport doctors and patients to hospital.
Sri Lanka: 700 minefields cleared
Cambodia: 300,000 landmines destroyed
Baptism Site: made safe for all of humanity
Where conditions allowed, our teams on the ground continued their vital work clearing landmines and explosives, whilst supporting the COVID-19 response. Despite the additional challenges, it has been a year of remarkable milestones; clearing the 700th minefield in Sri Lanka, destroying over 300,000 landmines in Cambodia, reaching over half a million people with risk education in Syria and making history at the Baptism Site of Christ by clearing the minefields that surrounded it.
Yemen: 91³Ô¹ÏÍø's first demolition of ERW
Angola: BP fund $6.1M to clear landmines
Laos: The 500lb bomb
These achievements would not have been possible without every single one of you—from individual donors and fundraisers, to the governments, trusts and corporations who support our work. Thank you for giving hope.
Zimbabwe: 100,000 landmines destroyed forever
Iraq: First 1000 IEDs removed
