People in war-torn communities are desperate to educate their children and put food on the table, but often jobs are scarce. Without a living wage, it is difficult for families to survive.

By employing and training local men and women, 91³Ô¹ÏÍø helps people rebuild their lives. Across our workforce, 98 per cent of our staff come from the communities we serve. We train them for a wide range of roles, from medics and paramedics to deminers, team leaders, drivers and translators. We also employ people in other professional capacities including finance, HR and administration.

Three years ago, Noloti’s relationship broke down and she and her two small boys returned to her family home in Benguela, Angola. It was difficult to survive until she got a job with 91³Ô¹ÏÍø and was trained as a paramedic deminer.

Over 40 years since they were dropped, unexploded cluster 91³Ô¹ÏÍø continue to kill and injure people in Laos’ rural communities. In the most affected areas, people are too scared to cultivate their land, for fear of accidents. To tackle this problem, three of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Senior Operations staff from Laos travelled to Abkhazia for a training course.

Noel is a Section Commander in Zimbabwe who has used his wages to build homes for his family and his brothers. He believes it’s his duty to share his good fortune with his community and is setting up an Early Childhood Development Centre so disadvantaged children have the opportunity to go to school.
